Yoga...

I started practicing Yoga years ago in NYC. This was long before Yoga became "mainstream". Many people gave me weird looks when I shared my love of yoga. I was NOT some crunchy hippie by any means. I opted for a Yoga Class rather than a sweaty workout at the Y or local gym. Yoga calmed me down and centered me,as well as keeping me in great shape. I used to run long distance including marathons,but instead of soothing my nerves,it brought out my compulsive nature. Oh by the way,I loathe those Hot Yoga classes. The hot sweaty clothes irritate me as well as the teacher who "pushes" the students. For me, Yoga is about listening to myself and tuning out "influences"..

Two Healthy Summer Treats

This will be our fun project for tomorrow. Just founded recipes from RawForBeauty Facebook page. Look very simple to make and healthy to eat.

Watermelon Whole Fruit Popsicles

Watermelon Whole Fruit Popsicles
3 cups watermelon puree (about 1/4 to 1/2 a watermelon)
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup chopped fresh strawberries
1 kiwi, peeled and sliced
1 peach or nectarine, diced small
handful fresh cherries, pitted and chopped

Cut the watermelon into chunks and then puree it in a blender until smooth. Set aside.

Set out about 1 dozen popsicle molds (amount needed will vary depending on size of molds). Fill each one with the chopped fresh fruit. Then pour in the watermelon puree until each mold is full to the top. Place a popsicle stick into each one. Place into your freezer and freeze for about 6 to 8 hours.

4 kiwis, peeled and frozen
2 cups cantaloupe, cut into cubes and frozen
2 cups watermelon, cut into cubes and frozen

Once the above fruits are frozen, blend individually to create a "slush" out of them. Layer in a fruit cup as below, and eat! ♥

Water On My Mind....

Since we will be travelling this summer....the beach and water is calling me. It has been up to 114 here in the desert. I feel ready for fresh ocean breeze and cool waves!
